It took place at New House Farm (Lorton, Cumbria) which is a truly lovely venue for a wedding as I think this picture demonstrates. Glad to have been able to help as the photographer they booked had to pull out but fortunately I was able to re-arrange my plans to save their day!

I should say that it was me who was shivering and not the wood. The wood was securely attached to the outside of the building but I was getting just a little cold. Suffering for my art, some might say! I enjoyed playing with a few different angles and made some pleasing compositions. I quickly warmed up in the car with the aid of a warm coffee and drove on to the next assignment. I love that each assignment brings different challenges and experiences and hope to continue enjoying being a photographer for many a year! The client said "These are great thanks" and "we are really pleased with the pictures", can't say fairer than that!

Although I enjoy photographing a wide range of different things including people, products, and any variety of different things to illustrate websites, magazines and other publications, I seem to photograph buildings the most. This is no bad thing as I enjoy photographing property, construction and interior design as well as the products used to construct a new home, office or other building. I was asked to photograph a production of "Like Carmen Eh" which was an adaption of the famous Carmen opera by the French composer Georges Bizet, this time it was given a very Cumbrian feel with distinctly local references and accents! A lot of fun!

This is an interesting and enjoyable part of my day. The kind of work I do is very varied and I have recently photographed Ghyll Scrambling and plan to do some PR photography for a theatre company soon. Sadly I had to turn down some work photographing the gurning champions at the Egremont Crab Fair, but a prior engagement in York meant I simply couldn't be in two places at once!

He is known for his industrial scenes but also for his Yorkshire landscapes. It was necessary to copy the painting on location and so I set up a temporary studio to do this. I particularly liked his choice of subtle chocolatey tones - very reminiscent of an old sepia toned photograph. Peter was delighted with my work.

You may be wondering why I chose to feature this particular picture. Sure it's nice enough, but surely not beyond any other competent professional photographer in Cumbria? A pretty little Lake District church ideal for weddings. The thing about this picture is that it is made up of five separate images stitched together and that's what my week has been like. Lots of little bits (and some big ones) fusing together to keep me busy.

Group shots, a wedding, architectural photography and quite a lot of post-production work! From my base in Cockermouth my work has recently taken me all over the county and beyond!

I'd hate to be doing one kind of photography all the time - so limiting! I've always believed that a good photographer can turn his (or her) hand to many different kinds of photography and succeed. Weddings are one of those things that I enjoy doing. I like to capture the atmosphere of the day and to tell a story in pictures. I also like to get the smaller details, like the rings, so that the couples photo-book tells the whole story and doesn't just capture the standard poses!

We visited the site which was in Newcastle and this is a typical shot. There were a series of photographs taken showing the interior and exterior of the building as well as the specialist equipment that had just been installed.

I was in Cambridge photographing the interior of the Fitzwilliam Museum. I was particularly taken with some of the statues on the first floor.

I did a really interesting photo-shoot for a client wanting some creative shots for their new website. I really love this type of brief, as well as getting the more usual photographs I had a chance to capture some creative images of these beautiful glass beads. I suppose you could say I was making the ordinary extraordinary.

Good photography can be a powerful addition to your PR armoury.  If you see a page of print, the eyes are immediately drawn to any pictures on the page.  At this point, the viewer can make an instant decision to find out more or move on.

This was photographed to illustrate the point "same but different" and if you look closely, you see what I mean.
